Porcelain Veneers At The Warren Smile Center in New Jersey

The cosmetic appearance of your smile impacts peoples’ perceptions of your personality and capabilities. Whether you’re out on the town, having an intimate dinner, or meeting a new business associate, first impressions are key to forming positive relationships. If you are self-conscious of your stained, crooked, spaced, or uneven teeth, Dr. Susanna Kayserman offers porcelain veneers at the Warren Smile Center. Porcelain veneers can enhance your smile’s overall appearance, so you can regain your self-confidence and convey a stunning first impression.

What are porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are a wonderful way to whiten, straighten, and generally improve the brilliance of your smile. They can also repair broken, chipped, or permanently misshapen teeth. Unlike porcelain crowns, porcelain veneers better reflect light and have a translucent appearance for a more natural look. Also, older crowns often develop a dark line between the crown and the gums, while porcelain veneers look and feel like your natural teeth. Friends, family, and coworkers will notice the marked improvement in the shape and glow of your smile. New acquaintances, however, won’t perceive that you’ve had a cosmetic procedure; they will simply note the natural beauty of your smile.

Advantages Of Porcelain Veneers
Structure of your natural teeth are preserved
Mask permanent discoloration
Resistant to stains and chips
Fill spaces between teeth
Repair fractured, chipped, or crooked teeth

What can I expect during porcelain veneers?

Porcelain veneers are achieved in two in-office visits. Dr. Kayserman will shape the enamel of your natural teeth in preparation for the procedure during your first appointment. An impression is then made of your teeth. This impression will be sent to a lab to create your perfectly individualized veneers. A temporary restoration is made, so patients can obtain a glimpse of how their veneers will look and feel. During the second visit, Dr. Kayserman will apply the actual veneers to your teeth using resin adhesive cement and a binding light. Excess cement is removed, and your veneers are polished to perfection.

In addition to providing a more natural appearance over porcelain crowns, porcelain veneers also provide many cosmetic advantages over other veneer procedures, such as resin bonding:

Resin (Bonding Veneers) Porcelain Veneers
May stain or darken over time Permanently stain resistant
Not individualized or lab processed; may appear less natural Lab processed for individualized fit, shape, and color
Requires some enamel shaping Requires some enamel shaping
Requires only one visit Requires two visits for lab processing
