Dentures At The Warren Smile Center in New Jersey

Teeth provide cosmetic and functional purposes throughout the day, every day of our lives. We express emotion by smiling or grimacing, and we provide our body with nutrition by chewing our food. In addition to eating and sharing our feelings, teeth also give support to facial structures, such as lips and cheeks, allowing our lips to appear plump and shapely. People who have lost many or all of their teeth may have a sunken “mug” appearance. They also may no longer be able to enjoy their favorite foods or express the emotions they wish to convey to others. If you are not qualified or are unable to receive a more permanent dental solution, such as dental implants, Dr. Kayserman provides dentures at the Warren Smile Center.

What are dentures?

Patients who have lost their natural teeth due to decay, periodontal disease, or injury can suffer from aesthetic, functional, and further oral health problems. Some of these problems may involve tooth decay, difficulty eating and speaking, and drooping facial features. Full and partial dentures replace missing teeth, allowing patients to achieve aesthetic and functional improvement without surgery. Dentures can support your facial structure, provide a means of enjoying favorite foods, and restore the beauty of your smile. Dentures are false teeth, either in a full or partial set, and are temporarily affixed to the gums using denture glue. Dentures must be removed daily for proper cleaning of both the gums and the dentures themselves.

How can full and partial dentures benefit me?

Full, or complete, dentures are used when all of the natural teeth have been lost, while partial dentures can be utilized to fill in gaps between natural teeth. No matter which denture option is right for you, oral hygiene must be regularly maintained to ensure the lasting health of your mouth. The gums, dentures, and any remaining natural teeth will need to be cleaned regularly to prevent further damage, including staining, sores, and the formation of plaque.
